Beginnings

I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while now. Mostly because my sisters and sister-in-law all have one and it's a fun way to see what people have been up to. I just never knew what I would blog about. My life isn't that exciting. But there have been some major changes lately - mainly getting engaged and buying a house with my fiance - so I thought it might be a good time to start sharing our story and our random happenings with people via a blog.

I chose the title "Life is a Highway" for a number of reasons. One is of course the popular Tom Cochrane song, although I might prefer the remake by Rascal Flatts (one major note about Mike and I is that we are HUGE country music fans). Another is because we've just begun this awesome journey together called life. And finally because the highway is where Mike spends a lot of his time out on the highways as a Lab Supervisor and Winter Roads Inspector with the Highways department of the Manitoba government.
